As a young girl, she devoured Michael Musto’s column in the Village Voice and realized New York was where she wanted to be. She moved to Manhattan and cut her teeth as a photo rep, trendspotter, producer, art buyer, art consultant, and cheerleader for cool people with great ideas. It was in New York that she realized her unique ability to connect people to projects and found herself knowing a little something about just about everything. She thinks it comes from all of the television she watched growing up.
When Crispin Porter + Bogusky called, she moved to Miami in a ‘93 Gold Volvo bought on the street from a guy wearing a pinky ring.
In addition to making miracles happen daily in ad land and trying to wear less black, Sheri teaches at the Miami Ad School, lectures extensively, speaks on panels, and judges awards shows. She started MAVEN to do what she does best- providing solutions to creative and business ideas and to help talented people realize their full potential. Inspired by her work in advertising, she felt ready to take some of the smarts she gained working on big brands and help others in not only the ad world, but beyond.
Along the way, she has met everybody and convinced them to work with no budget and even less time. She knows a guy who makes monster masks in two days, yet still can’t find a decent bagel in Miami. She is inspired by everything from the fashion at Glastonbury to Brazilian street art to the way the sun shines in California, particularly midday Venice. She is also a huge fan of MSNBC’S Lockup but is unclear why. |
